Tourist of the week

Due to the large volume of tourists to Prince Edward Island each summer, Charlottetown Detachment partnered with the province and decided to honour a selected tourist each week. On a particular day each week a tourist is stopped and checked by a patrol member. These persons (as long as there are no warrants) are then sent to a location where they are met by a member in red serge and provided with a gift package of various items. The same tourists are sent a letter from the province and Premier. This program is run for eight weeks during the summer. It was very successful as we and the province of PEI celebrated our 125th.

Benefits/Value Added

The feedback and the national media coverage was very positive. The program provides a positive image of the Force.
